Medical Waste Disposal: Finding a local provider in FL & GAFinding a local medical waste disposal provider can be more difficult than it seems. Many of the waste management providers claiming to be in the local area are not based in Florida or Georgia and work with subcontractors who offer subpar support. Avoid the traps.

Here are some tips provided by clients on how they found a local provider and made a decision:

  1. Determine what it is you are looking for – Services? Training?
Do you need help with annual OSHA compliance, cheotherapeutic waste, pharmaceutical waste etc. Knowing what is most critical for your needs will help you determine the company that best fits your needs.
  2. Do they have real local offices?
If a company is based out of Chicago, but services Florida that should be a red flag for you. Ideally they should have a local office within 250-500 miles from you to offer real customer support and address your needs.
  3. Pricing structures should be “open” and avoid long term contracts
Many companies now offer limited time specials to get you into a long term deal, avoid these at all costs. You are looking for flat prices with no hidden fees. Make sure and ask them what the “real” price will be, ideally a month to month strucure is preferred.
